Cynthia Chavez earns NAIA Women's Soccer Honorable Mention All-America honor

Cynthia Chavez of Thousand Palms, 92276 has been named as a NAIA Women's Soccer Honorable Mention All-American selection.

Chavez earned First Team All-Region honors for a second straight season. Chavez finished the season with 26 goals and seven assists and a total of 59 offensive points on the season. Both her goal and points totals are new KWU single season school records. Chavez ranked second in the NAIA in game winning goals with eight, sixth in the NAIA in total goals and in total points, ninth in points per game and tenth in goals per game.

Rogers finished the year ranked second KCAC in assists with 12 but also had 16 goals on the season to rank third in the conference in total points with 44. She narrowly missed tying KWU's single season assist record of 13. She ranked seventh in the NAIA in assists per game (.630), ninth in total assists, 13th in shots per game (5.26), 17th in points per game (2.32), 20th in total points, 23rd in goals and 28th in game winning goals.

The Coyotes finished the season 16-3-3 overall and 10-1 in the KCAC and were named KCAC Co-Champions and were the No. 2 seed in the KCAC Tournament, reaching the Championship match for the 12th consecutive year. KWU also reached the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round, facing Columbia College.
