Dakota Yates Added to KWU's Successful Debate, Forensics Showing

Dakota Yates, of El Dorado, KS, traveled with the Kansas Wesleyan University Forensics and Debate Squad to the Cameron University on Dec. 1-3 to take on 20 other universities and colleges at the annual Cameron University Christmas Classic Swing Tournament. Southwest Baptist was the big winner in the School Overall Sweepstakes, with TCU placing second and Kansas Wesleyan placing third.

Yates, with partner Megan Kline, beat Southwest Baptist in Parliamentary Debate finals to win first place. In Lincoln Douglas Debate, he beat Kansas City Kansas Community College and TCU in the semifinals and finals to capture first place. In Forensics, Yates placed third and fourth in Impromptu Speaking.
