KWU Volleyball's Kelsey Plummer earns All-KCAC Honors

Kansas Wesleyan had five student-athletes earn Volleyball All-KCAC honors as the conference announced the 2017 All-KCAC awards as selected by the conference coaches.

KWU had three First Team All-KCAC selections in Kelsey Plummer, Valerie Most and Hannah Reynolds. Taylor Dodge was selected as Second Team All-KCAC and Bailey Gillig was Honorable Mention All-KCAC.

Plummer was phenomenal for the Coyotes in 2017, averaging 2.46 kills per set from the middle hitter position with a .299 hitting percentage, which ranked second in the KCAC. She was also stellar in blocking for the Coyotes, leading the team and the KCAC averaging 1.47 blocks per set with 195 total blocks. She set new school records for single season total blocks with 195 and single season assisted blocks with 167. She ranks No. 2 in the NAIA in total blocks and No. 4 in the NAIA in blocks per set and No. 46 in the NAIA in hitting percentage.

Most led the Coyotes with 453 kills on the season, averaging 3.43 per set. She had a .227 hitting percentage during the season and averaged a team best 3.75 points per set. She ranked fifth in the KCAC in kills per set, fourth in total kills and seventh in hitting percentage. Her 453 kills this season ranks fifth all-time for the Coyotes and kills per set average is seventh best all-time for the Coyotes. She ranks No. 16 in the NAIA in total kills and No. 48 in kills per set average.

Reynolds averaged 2.83 kills per set for the Coyotes this season and had a .213 hitting percentage. She averaged 3.33 points per set during the season. She ranks No. 11 in the KCAC in hitting percentage, No. 12 in kills per set, No. 7 in total kills and No. 13 in the KCAC in blocks per set, averaging .73 blocks per set. She had a career high 20 kills against Friends during the regular season.

Dodge was the primary setter in KWU's 6-2 offense during the season. She averaged 5.3 assists per set for the Coyotes while appearing in all 133 sets during the season. She also had a team best 26 service aces and averaged 2.15 digs per set. She ranked No. 11 in the KCAC in assist average, but was ranked sixth in the conference amongst setters in a primarily 6-2 offense.

Gillig averaged 3.3 digs for the Coyotes on the season and had a .981 passing percentage as a back row specialist. Gillig stepped in as libero during the KCAC tournament and had a career high 36 digs in the match with Tabor, as she averaged 7.0 digs per set during the conference tournament. She ranked No. 16 in the KCAC in digs per set and No. 12 in total digs.

The Coyotes finished the 2017 campaign with a 26-10 overall record and were KCAC Co-Champions with a 19-3 record in conference play. The Coyotes reached the KCAC Tournament semifinals against Ottawa.
