Karlie Steinle named as KCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Kansas Wesleyan's Karlie Steinle has been selected as the KCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week in a vote by the conference sports information directors announced on Monday by the conference office.

Steinle averaged 16.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the Coyotes in three games last week. KWU picked up two key road wins at York and at Oklahoma Wesleyan last week to improve to 11-7 overall and 16-10 in the KCAC.

She had 21 points and five rebounds against Saint Mary, then followed with nine points and eight rebounds in just 20 minutes in a blowout win over York. She had 19 points, six rebounds and four assists in a victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan on Saturday. She shot 44.8 percent from the field and an incredible 88.9 percent from the free throw line on the week.

She also moved into the No. 7 spot on KWU's all-time scoring list with 1211 points and is No. 6 all-time in rebounds with 609.

Wesleyan has two games this week, hosting Bethel on Thursday and traveling to Sterling on Saturday.
