Vanessa Machado Earns Degree from Kansas Wesleyan University on May 9, 2015

Vanessa Machado of Montclair, CA is confirmed as having officially graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS, with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice , as recognized during the KWU Spring Commencement on May 9, 2015.

The Saturday afternoon event included an invocation by the Rev. Eugene M. Wilson, '53, grandfather of fourth-generation KWU graduate Amanda (Wilson) Colgrove, Class of 2015.

The Commencement Address was given by David L. Fancher, Ph.D., '64, who returned to KWU with his doctorate to teach math and physics, later serving as dean of students and vice president of academic affairs.

During the presentation of degrees, photos were taken of the graduates. These will be available for viewing online soon at http://www.kwu.edu/alumni-happenings.

The new graduates were welcomed into the ranks of KWU alumni by David Branda, '76, of Goodland, KS, president of the KWU Alumni Association.

The benediction was given by Cameron Jackson, director of Spiritual Development. A celebration reception was held in Muir Gym for graduates and families immediately following the Commencement ceremony.
