William Vore Contributes to KWU Debate Success at Red River Swing Debate and Forensic Championships, Nov. 6-8, 2015

William Vore of Fort Scott , KS (67333) played a significant role in the success of the Kansas Wesleyan University Debate and Forensics team at the 41st annual Red River Swing Debate and Forensic Championships at Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS), Nov. 6-8, 2015.

Twenty-eight schools representing Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas competed in Individual Events and International Public Debate.

RESULTS:

In Individual Events, KWU sophomore Dakota Yates (El Dorado, KS) won 1st place in Extemporaneous Speaking, 4th in Communications Analysis, and 6th in Informative Speaking. Senior Kristofer Lewis (Salina, KS) placed 6th in Extemporaneous Speaking.

In Team Debate, the team of junior Alex Vore (Fort Scott, KS) and senior Amber Benning (Caney, KS) placed 3rd, and the team of Dakota Yates and senior Nick Fowler (El Dorado, KS) placed 4th. In Individual Debate, Kristofer Lewis placed 4th.

In the school sweepstakes competition, Kansas Wesleyan placed an impressive 5th in Debate and 9th overall out of the 28 schools in attendance.
